GLP Clean Energy has teamed up with Fastned, a European fast charging company, and signed a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) onsite at G-Park Zevenaar in the Netherlands.
G-Park Zevenaar, unveiled on July 6, 2023, is a vast logistics park, equipped with a cutting-edge roof-mounted solar PV project boasting a 16.2MWp installed capacity. GLP Clean Energy claimed that the development is anticipated to slash approximately 5,000 tonnes of CO2 emissions annually, equivalent to planting 150,000 trees over its lifetime.
Under the terms of the agreement inked with Fastned and orchestrated by independent energy operator Scholt Energy, the renewable electricity generated at G-Park Zevenaar will exclusively power Fastned’s fast charging stations across the Netherlands.
Stefano Fissolo, senior director of GLP Clean Energy for Europe, expressed his enthusiasm about the collaboration, stating: “This new agreement is particularly pleasing as our renewable power will not only support Fastned directly, but also their many customers, helping to drive a wider societal transition towards a more sustainable future.”
Michiel Langezaal, co-founder and CEO of Fastned, highlighted the significance of the long-term agreement, saying: “This partnership contributes to a more sustainable future and helps us accelerate the transition to electric driving.” He emphasised the importance of securing a stable and sustainable power source as the demand for fast charging escalates with the increasing adoption of electric vehicles.
GLP Clean Energy is on a fast track, with ongoing projects totalling approximately 60 MW across Europe and plans to deliver 500 MW in the future.
