IntraLogisteX, the UK’s leading intralogistics exhibition, is returning to the NEC, Birmingham on 19-20 March 2024, so those planning to attend will not have much longer to wait.
The exhibition will be co-located with two others, Robotics and Automation and the Sustainable Supply Chain Exhibition, giving visitors who register for any of the shows access to all three exhibitions. Plus it’s free to attend!
Following on from Logistics Manager’s sneak peek at what visitors can expect at IntraLogisteX 2024, Logistics Manager dives further into everything that attendees can look forward to at the event.
For the official IntraLogisteX preview, which includes Q&As with exhibitors and some top conference sessions to look out for, check out the March issue of Logistics Manager!
IntraLogisteX is for logistics professionals who are looking for solutions to their current and future challenges, from the latest materials handling technologies to full-scale warehouse automation options.
This event is designed for end-user practitioner logistics professionals such as warehouse managers, heads of distribution, IT directors and lead project managers. Visitors to the show in 2023 included the likes of Amazon, Bentley, Currys, Tesco, Harrods, Royal Mail, Sony and Unilever – to name but a few.
Over 8,000 visitors, 350 exhibitors and 60 speakers are expected over the two days of the event.
Robotic and automated solutions are something that visitors can expect to see in person and learn a lot about at the show.
LiBiao Robotics is just one of the many exhibitors looking forward to showcasing its solutions at IntraLogisteX. It said that ‘visitors to IntraLogisteX 2024 will be able to discover how the LiBiao Robotics’ range of autonomous mobile robot-based parcel sortation solutions can bring significant operational efficiencies to any logistics facility or fulfilment centre’.
With its European headquarters in Frankfurt, Germany, LiBiao Robotics said that its European and global client base ‘continues to grow’. In 2024 it is estimated that 30 billion parcels will be processed by the company’s autonomous mobile robot sortation technology at client sites across the world.
Meanwhile, visitors to the Ferag stand at this year’s IntraLogisteX exhibition will ‘discover how intelligent sorter technology can transform e-commerce fulfilment for the fashion sector’, the company said.
Darcy de Thierry, managing director of Ferag UK, commented: “There’s a form of warehouse automation that offers all the capabilities necessary to fulfil orders for both high street stores and e-commerce, all in a single seamless operation – offering automated movement, sorting and buffering of hanging goods and boxed items in one system.
“Overhead pouch sortation systems, such as Ferag’s advanced Skyfall solution, are capable of sorting and processing many thousands of orders an hour, with each pouch able to carry both hanging garments and flat items, such as shoes and flat pack goods, enabling fast order fulfilment from a single pool of inventory.”
Plus, Swisslog is set to highlight the ‘human side of automation’ at IntraLogisteX. The company said that it is ‘geared up to make an impact at IntraLogisteX 2024’, showcasing its fully integrated automation and software solutions on its stand, using the event as ‘a platform to emphasise its commitment to placing people at the forefront of its mission’.
“Our people bring deep industry-specific expertise, backed by a collaborative spirit, to every project,” said Swisslog CEO Jens Schmale. “That expertise creates value for our customers from solution design through ongoing support and optimisation. Our Swisslog colleagues become an extension of our customers’ teams and share in their aspirations, challenges and successes.”
Provider of ‘intelligent solutions’ Invar Group is another exhibitor at the show. It said that those who visit its stand will ‘be free to explore the full range of technologies and options available to them, by talking with one of the industry’s leading independent integrators of advanced warehouse automation’.
Craig Whitehouse, managing director of Invar Group, said: “Deciding when to automate your warehouse is a critical decision that can impact your business goals and needs. Our experts will be available to discuss the factors to consider when looking to automate and how to ensure a seamless integration.”
Leading automated warehouse solutions provider Exotec is once again exhibiting at IntraLogisteX to showcase its ‘groundbreaking’ Skypod System. Based in Lille, France, Exotec has continued to expand its global presence, working with the likes of Decathlon and Carrefour and has big plans for the UK market in 2024.
Exotec will be introducing a new booth space at the event where visitors will be able to immerse themselves completely in the warehouse of retail food and lifestyle chain Monoprix.
Simon Jones, UK Sales Executive at Exotec, said: “We had a fantastic time at IntraLogisteX in 2023 so we’re really looking forward to returning for 2024. The quality of attendees is always very high, and there is time to have really in-depth discussions with industry peers and customers alike.
“This year is especially exciting for us, as we have built up a lot of momentum for our Skypod system in the UK over the last two years. In fact, one of our largest-ever deployments is currently taking place in Sheffield for AAG.”
Packaging is another key topic that visitors will be able to explore at IntraLogisteX 2024.
Sparck Technologies, which specialises in ‘right-size’ packaging technology, said that e-commerce businesses keen to cut packaging costs and increase capacity should visit the Sparck Technologies stand.
With the capability to tailor-make up to 1,100 packages per hour, for multiple or single item orders, Sparck Technologies’ CVP Everest and CVP Impack automated packaging systems use advanced 3D scanning technology to optimally size, create and label each parcel in one ‘seamless’ process – reducing package volumes by up to 50%, cutting cardboard usage by 30% and eliminating the need for void fill.
Jo Bradley, business development manager for Sparck Technologies in the UK, said: “A great many e-commerce businesses are still wasting time, money and labour using outdated manual packing processes. And yet, labour is tight and peaks are increasingly difficult to predict, leaving little room for error.
“Automated right-sized boxing technology gives e-commerce companies the capacity and flexibility needed to hit peak without the stress of finding available labour and the right size of box. Taking a stand at IntraLogisteX gives us a great opportunity to show businesses what can be achieved with ‘right-size’ boxing technology.”
Another IntraLogisteX exhibitor offering packaging solutions is SEE, formerly known as Sealed Air. The packaging manufacturer’s AUTOBAG® brand range of solutions, it said, are ‘used by companies across the UK and Europe to enhance packaging productivity, overcome labour availability challenges and support sustainability goals’.
Duncan Hall, UKI APS commercial director at SEE, commented: “There’s a growing trend of warehousing and fulfilment companies investing in automation and digitalisation to make their operations quicker, more reliable and increasingly agile. Our automated packaging solutions help meet this demand by combining high-speed bagging and printing to maximise efficiencies and throughput.”
