UK-based same-day courier Speedy Freight has opened its first branch in the US, with an office based in Dallas, Texas.
Speedy freight chose Dallas as the location for its first American site due to its ‘size, central US position and high level of commercial activity’, which it describes as ‘perfect for express logistics’.
This follows Speedy Freight’s recent expansion into the EU through the opening of offices in Dublin and Spain.
According to Speedy Freight, the Dallas office will ‘cater to any and all 3PL requirements, including full truckloads, less-than-full truckloads, drayage, express same-day requirements and cross-border operations’.
Mike Smith, CEO of Speedy Freight, commented: “This is a massive milestone for Speedy Freight, and we see a huge opportunity in North America for future expansion.
“Our franchising model is perfectly suited to US business, and we’re confident that this is just the first of many US offices.”

Software will play a key role in this North American expansion, with Speedy Freight set to use its in-house software to manage the logistics process from end to end. This software, the courier has said, handles job management and provides status updates and customer access via an online customer portal.
The end goal of using this software is to give clients ‘full visibility of quotes, active jobs and invoices all in one place’.
Following the undeniable success of IntraLogisteX 2024 in the UK, the exhibition is heading across the Atlantic later in the year, with IntraLogisteX USA taking place on 22-23 October 2024 at Miami Beach Convention Centre.
